Music by Roma, Sinti and from Jewish culture – 78 years later

Ssassa performs together with Markus Reinhardt, grandnephew of Django Reinhardt on Fri 8 Sept at approx 1830 in the Kreuzggang of St Maria zu Franziskanern, Franziskanerplatz 1, 6000 Lucerne.

78 years after the liberation of Auschwitz, a concert with a literary context will take place on Friday, 8 September 2023 in the cloister of St.Maria zu Franziskanern. The Sinti musicians Markus Reinhardt (grandnephew of Django Reinhardt) and Rudi Rumstajn from Cologne, the Roma band Ssassa (conducted by Christian Fotsch) and musician Omer Nevo, rabbinical assistant of the Jewish Liberal Community Or Chadasch in Zurich, will play and sing. Literarily, the two concerts are based on excerpts from the orte edition Auf der Milchstrasse fahren wir davon. Poetry by Roma, Sinti and Yenish.

The concert on 8 September will take place at 6:30 pm and will be opened by Rabbi Ruven Bar Ephraim.
