Andreas Kleiner has studied Balkan and oriental music for more than 25 years. He has an astonishing knowledge of the art of makams and the language of the taksims. He has mastered the oriental laws of melody and style that give the music its stirring beauty and the musician infinite freedom to express his feelings.

Andreas Kleiner's clarinet playing is of such rare sensuality and empathy for the oriental music that after concerts people talk to him in all sorts of languages such as Turkish or Arabic instead of Swiss-German!
